In this example, we will be going over the SUM function. The SUM function is used to add all the given values together. With this introduction out of the way, let’s get into it.
SUM Function on Two Individual Values
Let’s find out how we can use the SUM function on two individual values. Let’s see an example:
In our spreadsheet, we have a numeric value in cell A1 and a numeric value in cell A2. In cell A3, we have our SUM function which is prepared to calculate the sum of the value in A1 and the value in A2. Let’s press enter an check the result:

Now, let’s see how we can use the SUM function on a range of values. Let’s see an example:
In our spreadsheet, we have a range of random values from cells A1 to A43. In cell A44, we have our SUM function which is prepared to calculate the sum of all the values from A1 to A43. Let’s press enter and check the result:
